Type of Event: Individual (one to two students working together)
Description of Event: Student(s) will estimate a metric quantity, which will then be compared to the actual value during an Olympic event.

Description of Event: Student(s) will estimate a metric quantity, which will then be compared to the actual value during an Olympic event.
Rules and Needed Skills:
- Each student or team will compete in the five Olympic events.
- After performing the Olympic task, the student or team will establish their estimate for the metric quantity.
- Estimates will include distance, volume and mass.
- Students will be given 30 seconds to provide their estimate to the scorekeeper.
Scoring:
- First place in each of the five Olympic events receives points equal to the number of groups participating in the event. One fewer point for each successive place.
- The student or team with the most overall points at the conclusion of the Metric Olympics will be declared the winner.
