Type of Event: Individual (one student or two students working together)
Description of Event: Your mission is to Mars. Your challenge is to build a rocket with the right nose tip and wings so your space ship will travel straight and high. Will you be chosen to be the next Rocket Science Engineers for the Mission to Mars? Come and test out your skills!
Rules and Needed Skills:
1. Students will construct a nose cone and wings using provided materials. They will then attach these to a straw rocket.
2. They will have 15 minutes to construct their rocket, and 5 minutes to test it and make adjustments.
3. This segment will end with a rocket launch where students will blow their rockets into the air.
Scoring: Rockets will be judged based on how straight and high they fly as well as on the neatness and creativity of the design.
